Ramya’s grandfather succumbs to injuries

Madhusudhana Chary, grandfather of Ramya, the victim of drunk driving accident in Punjagutta, succumbed to the injuries on Monday morning. Due to the severe injuries that he sustained following the accident, the 65-year-old was being treated in the ICU. After his long battle for the past 18 days, he breathed his last today.

The accident occurred on July 1 when Ramya was returning home with her family members in their car. A car coming from opposite direction, driven by an engineering student under the influence of alcohol, lost control, and rammed into the divider before it flung into the air and fell on to the car carrying Ramya and her family members.

Ramya’s uncle Rajesh, who was behind the wheel during the time of the unfortunate accident, died on the spot while Ramya died a week ago.
