Ramalinga Raju seeks lenience in punishment
Satyam Ramalinga Raju on Thursday produced a four page letter seeking lenience while awarding conviction.
In a four-page letter to the CBI special court judge BVLN Chakravarthi, he sought court's forgiveness in view of his charity activities spread across states, his responsibilities towards his family and his mental health conditions.In his letter of apology, he also said he did not commit the crime intentionally. He said through service projects like the 108 service, Byrraju and Nandhi Foundation, he had served the country. He requested the court to consider his services and reduce his punishment. He said he has the responsibility of his children and parents and in the 33 months of his time in prison, he had undergone a lot of mental trauma.
