Rail budget, a raw deal for AP: YSRCP - Sakshi Post

YSR Congress Party has termed the Railway budget as anti-poor and said it has totally ignored the state interests.

YSRCP leaders Somayajulu and Janak Prasad said: "There are 33 MPs from Congress party representing AP, but the railway budget disappointed the people of the State," they said, adding that there was a raw deal in terms of new railway lines, projects and upgrading the existing lines. Though the budget announced some new projects but there was no guarantee to implement them due to dearth of funds in the railways.

The YSRCP leaders recalled that when the  UPA partners were holding the railway ministry, they have made all the deals in their favour and for their own states.   Even now, the Congress ruled states were denied benefits in the budget.

A coach factory had been sanctioned at Kajipet in 1991, but the railway minister failed to allocate funds for the factory. There was not word in the budget speech till now, they lamented.
