Rahul Gandhi will take up padayatra in 32 villages and will be interacting with tribals in Narsipatnam, Jerrela and Chitapally. A series of protests have also been proposed by Rahul and his team.
Congress leader Nadendla Manohar said, “The state government is extending tacit support to private mining companies. Many tribals will be displaced due to unmindful mining in the district. The Congress will not allow this to happen.”
It may be recalled that thousands of tribals have protested against government’s move after it gave clearance to 1,212 hectares in Chintapalli and Jerrela reserve forest in Narsipatnam division for bauxite mining.
