Presuming Wife To Be Dead, Auto Driver Commits Suicide

Hyderabad: In a tragic incident, an auto driver has committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan at his house in Malkajgiri presuming that his wife is no more.

According to the Malkajgiri police inspector Srinivas Reddy, deceased has been identified as Bommagani Mahesh, a resident of Prashanth Nagar of Malkajgiri. He got married to Jyotsna four years ago. They also have three-and-half-year-old daughter.

On Sunday, the couple got into an altercation over a petty issue. Upset over this, wife Jyotsna tried to end her life by consuming sleeping pills. Noticing this, her husband and family members shifted her to a hospital in ECIL where she was declared out of danger.

Presuming that his wife is dead, husband Mahesh allegedly hanged self from a ceiling fan. A case has been registered following a complaint from Mahesh's sister.
