Doctor Arrested For Performing Banned Pre-Natal Sex Determination Tests

The police on Tuesday arrested a doctor in Kuravi mandal headquarters in Mahabubnagar district for conducting the banned pre-natal sex determination tests on women.

The doctor has been identified as Srinivas and has been illegally conducting pre-natal sex determination tests. The Government has banned these tests to end discrimination against the girl child. On coming to know that Srinivas, who runs a private clinic, was conducting the banned tests, Superintendent of police sent three pregnant women as decoys. The doctor was arrested while he was trying to perform the sex determination tests. The scanner used for conducting the ultra sonography was also seized.
