- HOW KOVIND WON: Ram Nath Kovind is the 14th president of the country. He secured nearly 66 per cent of votes to win the election. BJP-backed candidate Ram Nath Kovind secured 2930 votes with value of 7,02,044, Congress-backed MeiraKumar got 1,844 votes with the value of 3,67,314; 77 invalid. Thus Kovind gets 65.65 per cent of votes, while Meira Kumar polled 34.34 per cent.
- CROSS-VOTING: Gujarat Congress has 57 MLAs, but Congress-backed Meira Kumar got only 49 votes. Eight MLAs cross vote. MLAs Radhavji Patel, Ashwin Kotwal, Dharmendra Jadeja, Amit Chaudri, Ramsinh Parmar, Anil Joshiyara, Bavant Rajput, Baldev Thakore, Mahendra Baria and Meraman Goriya are suspected to have cross-voted.
- ZILCH FOR MEIRA IN AP: In Andhra Pradesh, the Congress-backed Meira Kumar drew a zilch. There are no MLAs or MPs from the Congress in Andhra Pradesh.
