Illegal Sand Mining Playing Havoc With Lives Of Fishermen

Srikakulam: Illegal excavation of sand from the sea shore, is harming the drinking water in the villages. The drinking water is becoming salty complained the T. Sasanam fishermen to YSR Congress party chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. They told YS Jagan that the relief measures of cyclone Titli, are yet to reach them. There are many setbacks in the implementation of the relief measures, they pointed out.

Mamidipalli, Palasa constituency TDP, CPM leaders joined YSRCP in the presence of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. Talking to the media they said, "we have lost all faith in Chandrababu." They expressed anguish over the corruption of the TDP government right down to the village level. "Even people eligible for ration cards and pensions are being demanded to pay bribe", they added.

In the padayatra, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy met farmers, who grew onion this season. They said, the price of onion is sliding further down like never before and is leading them into losses. The TDP government is not bothered about farmers, they added. They requested YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to pressurize the government to buy their crop through MARKFED.

Praja sankalpa Yatra, the mass outreach initiative taken by the YSR Congress chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has entered its 337th day. As of now the yatra is proceeding successfully in Srikakulam district. YS Jagan started the padayatra on Day 337 from Turakasasanam cross in Ichapuram, and will move from there to Palavalasa in Sompeta, Korlam, Baruva circle till Lakkavaram.
