Power generation disrupted in RTPP


Power generation in thermal power stations continued to stall in the state as Rayalaseema Thermal Power Plant (RTPP) was hit by technical snag on Wednesday.

Power generation of Rs 840 MW was disrupted following a technical snag in four units. Authorities swung into action to rectify the problem.

Power generation had been stalled in two thermal power stations yesterday with which 700 MW of power production came to halt. A technical snag occurred in the third unit of NTPC, Ramagundam in Karimnagar district causing disruption of 200 MW power output. 

Similarly, a technical problem led to stalling of power generation at Kakatiya Thermal power plant at Chelpur in Warangal due to leakage in boiler tube. Power generation of 500 MW was affected.
