Posing As A Doctor, Youth Drives Away With An Audi Car While On Test Drive
Hyderabad: The Banjara Hills police have registered a case against an unidentified person who, posing as a doctor employed at Apollo Hospitals, walked into a pre-owned car dealership in Filmnagar, asked for a test drive of an Audi Q3 and fled away with it.
On Thursday a youth walked into a pre-owned car dealership in Filmnagar at abour 11:30 AM and introduced himself as Gautam Reddy, a doctor employed at Apollo Hospitals nearby. Having expressed his interest in an Audi Q3 he requested a test drive.
The dealer Narendra Kumar allowed him to test drive the Audi Q3 with the registration number AP28 DR0005 but not before asking his employee Kasi to accompany the walk-in customer.
Nothing seemed out of the ordinary until Gautam reached Apollo Hospital. There he requested Kasi to step out of the vehicles as he wanted to drive it alone. However once Kasi got off, Gautam sped away with the vehicle.
Curiously the dealer Narendra Kumar waited until evening before he realised something was amiss. He then approached the Banjara Hill police station and reported the matter to them.
The police booked a case under IPC section 379 and are trying to locate the miscreant by examining CCTV footage. The value of the pre-owned Audi car is estimated to be around Rs.40 lakh.
