Chandrababu Turned Welfare Schemes Into Profit-making Avenues: BJP

Kakinada: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLC Somu Veerraju lambasted Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu for allegedly resorting to high-scale corruption in the works of Polavaram project. Speaking to media here today, the BJP leader condemned the state government for making frequent changes in the estimated costs of the project works. "Why is it that the Polavaram project costs spiked to Rs 53,000 crores from Rs 16,000 crores," he asked.

Chandrababu is turning all the projects into his profit-making avenues, he criticized. The AP CM should be awarded an Oscar award for his rampant corruption, he said. People of the state will teach him in a lesson in the 2019 elections, he added.

In the last four years, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) government managed to build just a compound wall for the Adikavi Nannaya University in Rajahmundy, he remarked. BJP stands by the promises made during the bifurcation, he said. We cannot comment on the possibility of alliances for the 2019 elections, he clarified.
