Kiran's new party to be a stillborn?
Former Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy's plans of starting a new party hit a major roadblock on Monday when East Godavari district collector denied permission to him to organise a public meeting in Rajahmundry.
Kiran was planning to announce the name of his new party on March 12, however he was denied on the grounds that election code has been implemented in the state.
Collector Neetu Kumari Prasad in her order declared that due to election code being in place in the state, they cannot give permission to public meetings.
Kiran, recently, held a press conference announcing his plan of launching a new party. He said he would be disclosing the name of the party March 12 at a public meeting at Rajahmundry.
The former CM also said that the party's manifesto and other details would be disclosed at the Rajahmundry meeting.
As per latest reports, the venue of Kiran's public meeting in Rajahmundry has been changed from Arts college grounds to Gemini grounds.
