PIL on crop loan waiver

A public interest litigation was filed in the Hyderabad High Court challenging the order issued by the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana governments to waive off the agriculture crop loans and gold loans availed by the farming community.

The court admitted the petition for hearing on Monday.
Expressing anger at the petitioner, the court asked what was wrong when banks are coming forward for the loan waiver.
The court adjourned the matter for Tuesday.
It may be recalled here that the High Court recently struck down a PIL that asked the court to direct the Andhra Pradesh government not to go in for crop loan waiver.
