Islamabad: A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight from Karachi to Gwadar on Friday was delayed after a pilot informed the control tower about "possible danger" - which turned out to be a cat in the cockpit, airport officials said. On the pilot's "tip-off", officials from Airport Security Force, Civil Aviation Authority and firefighters rushed to the plane, Xinhua reported.

The rescue and security teams started a search operation inside the cockpit, while others stood alert outside the plane to control any untoward situation. However, it was only a cat, hiding inside the cockpit, and once it was driven away, the plane was allowed to take off. Airlines spokesperson Mashood Tajwar said that investigations are on as to how the animal sneaked into the plane. (IANS)
