CI Promises Padmasri, Collects Rs 4 Crore, Lands In Jail

Guntur Crime Control Station Circle Inspector Sesha Rao has been arrested on Saturday on charges of duping a person to a tune of Rs 4 crore by promising him corporate positions and prestigious Padma awards. Four others, involved in the scam, have also been arrested.

Sesha Rao promised one Rayapaneni Ramanaiah Naidu of Nellore to get hm a Padma award and a nominated position in the Central Warehousing Corporation. He collected Rs 4 crore from Ramanaiah Naidu and then began evading them. After all his attempts to get back the money failed, Ramanaiah Naidu lodged a complaint with the Gudur police. The police arrested Sesha Rao and four others. Five more persons involved in the case are on the run. A case has been registered and investigation is on.
