Petrol Tanker With 33 Tons Of Fuel Catches Fire, Car Driver Killed
Riyadh: A car crashed into a fuel tanker carrying 33 tons of petroleum, sparking a fire on Jeddah-Mecca Expressway early on Friday morning.
At least two other cars were involved in the ensuing pile-up, said Naif Al-Sharif, spokesman for Mecca Civil Defense. He said the driver of a taxi burned to death while three other people were rescued. The dead driver was not immediately identified. Al-Sharif said the Civil Defense received information about the accident around 1 a.m. and firefighting teams from Mecca rushed to the scene.
The firemen extinguished the blaze and removed oil spilt on the highway.
