Peddireddy sets deadline for Cong to replace CM - Sakshi Post

Former minister and Congress MLA Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy on Sunday gave an ultimatum to the party high command to change Chief Minister Nallari Kiran Kumar Reddy.

Peddireddy who hails from the home district (Chitoor) of Kiran Kumar Reddy, made it clear that if the high command failed to replace Kiran by end of November 2012, he would resign from the Assembly.

Peddireddy had several times before had stated “prospects of the Congress in the state would improve only when Kiran Kumar Reddy was removed as the Chief Minister".

He also alleged that the Kiran was diluting the welfare schemes introduced by late YS Rajasekhara Reddy ever since he became Chief Minister.

Last month also Peddireddy had threatened to resign from the Congress if the party high command does not remove Kiran, but he did not set a deadline then. He has even lodged a complaint on the issue with Congress president Sonia Gandhi.

However, today he has set a deadline and given the party time till the end of this month.
