Pawan Kalyan Lauds YSRCP MPs’ Efforts For AP Special Status

Hyderabad: Power Star, Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan on Thursday praised the unrelenting efforts by YSR Congress Party MPs for the special category status to Andhra Pradesh.

At the same time, the Power Star condemned the compromise that TDP MPs struck with the Centre begging for contracts, business opportunities and to getting bailed out in scams and crimes.

"It's quite disheartening to see honorable minister Sri Ashok Gajapathi Rajugaru's silence and the absence of TDP MPs in the parliament when the discussion over special status to AP came up. TDP does not have the right to compromise on the promised special category status with the Centre as people of AP brought TDP and BJP into power trusting they will get the status," PK posted on twitter.

Expressing his anguish over the issue and other developments in recent days, Pawan questioned "When do we lost our moral high ground with the Centre? When do we mortgage our self-respect for our personal benefit?"

On a derogatory comments made by BJP MP Tarun Vijay on the skin color of southerners, PK said, "Attitude of our political class (in Delhi) - you put us down by our skin color, we are ok. You mock at us for speaking our Dravida tongue, we are ok. And we are ok to be slavish and subservient at the cost of our people's self respect as long as you dole us out contracts, business opportunities, and bail us out of our scams and wrong doings."

PK thanked Telangana MPs K. Kesava Rao and Rapolu Ananda Bhaskar for supporting the special status issue in parliament.
