They are all Telugu celebrities who will soon pick up broom and clear garbage. The Union MInistry of Urban development has decided to name nine persons in the Telugu speaking states as ambassadors for Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
This is an effort to give a fillip to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's pet campaign to rid India of garbage. This was stated by Urban Development Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu.Already actor Nagarjuna, Nandamuri Balakrishna, badminton stars Jwala Gutta and Saina Nehwal, actor Ram, Allu Arjun, heroines Samantha, Tamanna, Machu Laxmi and her two brothers - Manchu Manoj, Manchu Vishnu, tennis star Sania Mirza picked up the broom as part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. .The other members nominated are: cricket administrator Shivlal Yadav, actor Nitin, animal rights activist Amala Nagarjuna (films), B.V.R. Mohan Reddy, J.A. Chowdary, J. Rameswara Rao and G.V.K. Reddy (industry ) Gopi Chand and G.S. Rao and Vemuri Radhakrishna.
