Parliament adjourned over Polavaram issue

The Lok Sabha was on Monday adjourned for an hour following an uproar over the issue of Polavaram.

After the debate on Railway budget, Home Minister Rajnath Singh introduced the Polavaram Ordinance in Lok Sabha.Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) members staged a protest opposing the ordinance on the Polavaram project.

Speaker Sumitra Mahajan requested in vain the MPs to cooperate and enable smooth conduct of the house. Amid the din, the Speaker adjourned the house for an hour.

The MPs belong to TRS and TDP are expected to meet President Pranab Mukherjee at 7.50 pm to requesting him to rethink on the Polvaram ordinance.
