Over 15,000 policemen have been deployed for peaceful conduct of the Ganesh immersion procession on September 29 in Hyderabad, a senior police officer said today. Elaborate security arrangements are being put in place with over 15,000 police officers and personnel, so that the Ganesh immersion procession passes off peacefully, Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anurag Sharma told reporters.

Ganesh festival committees have been asked to begin and end the procession early, because of the proposed 'Telangana March'. As many as 93 cranes will be used for speedy immersion of Ganesh idols at Hussain Sagar lake here, he said. The police has identified 300 hypersensitive and 580 sensitive areas in the city. A strict watch on trouble makers will be kept through a more number of CCTV cameras, the Hyderabad police chief said, adding that so far 2,000 Ganesh idols have been immersed and more idols will be immersed until the final procession day.
