Osmania University Centenary Celebrations To Be Memorable: Srihari

Hyderabad: The centenary celebrations of Osmania University will be held on a grand scale for three days from April 26 to 28, said Deputy chief minister Kadiyam Srihari on Monday, adding, Union Minister Prakash Jawadekar will be attending all the programmes.

Minister, who holds the education portfolio, said the celebrations will be hold jointly together by the university and the state government, adding Telangana Cultural Department and the Sanskritika Saradhis would look into organizing the event.

The minister said that All India VCs Conference will be held on April 27 and Indian International Science Fair would be held on April 28. Apart from this a video would be produced showcasing university’s history

In order to make the centenary a remarkable fete, nearly 30 committees have been formed to look into the arrangements for the occasion such as the reception committee, organizing committee, finance committee and estimates committee.

The minister said that All India VCs Conference will be held on April 27 and Indian International Science Fair would be held on April 28. Apart from this a video would be produced showcasing university’s history.

"A book with 100 best publications of the university would be brought out, and another book on the luminaries from the university would also be published," said Srihari.
