Online Fraudster Arrested After 2 Years

The victim was duped by an online shopping website - SandsShoppingHub.com - Sakshi Post

The accused Sandeep Sahota (32) was nabbed in Delhi on July 22 who duped victim Dharmendra Tiwari of Rs 69,000.

Hyderabad: The cyber crime police on Monday arrested the kingpin of an online fraud that took place in 2014.

The accused Sandeep Sahota (32) was nabbed in Delhi on July 22 who duped victim Dharmendra Tiwari of Rs 69,000. The accused was brought to Hyderabad on Prisoner Transit warrant.

The victim was duped by an online shopping website - SandsShoppingHub.com - who called him on October 18 saying that his mobile number has been shortlisted in the lucky draw organised by their website.

The accused is the director of Sands Info Systems in Vaishali, Uttar Pradesh

The fraudster then informed Tiwari that he can buy the electronic gadgets for 70 percent discount with zero percent on EMI, for which, he gave away details of his debit card to complete the registration process.

The officials traced down the accused by checking the call data and bank details involved for the transaction. The accused is the director of Sands Info Systems in Vaishali, Uttar Pradesh.
