One month over and no achievements to boast - Sakshi Post

Is the sheen wearing off on Chandrababu Naidu? One month into power and no major success to boast of, Chandrababu is desperately in need of a big bang achievement.

Tokenisms fail to impress

Tokenisms like mobile cabinet meets and out-of-capital swearing-ins have failed to spread posititivity around the new dispensation in Andhra Pradesh. Chandrababu continues to operate out of Hyderabad and there appears to be no immediate sign of zeroing in on a capital site. With every passing day, more cities in Seemandhra are joining the race to become capital cities. And Chandrababu clearly does not seems to have any clue on how to subside these demands, which have the potential to stoke sub-regional passions.

Chandrababu's Achilles' Heels

Mere litany of complaints against the past governments and the slew of white papers on ticklish issues may not serve the purpose for Chandrababu. Job creation, crop loan waiver and choosing and developing a capital city could prove to be his Achille's heels.

His attempts to provoke Telangana through cancellation of PPAs have failed to divert the attention from his failures. This has added to the woes of Chandrababu Naidu.

Ice-cold BJP worries Babu

What is more worrisome for Chandrababu is the BJP's ice-cold attitude towards TDP worries. With Modi in no mood to bail him out on crop loan waiver, Chandrababu finds himself in Catch-22 situation. Added to this, BJP's Vizag MP Kambhampati Haribabu's severe indictment of Chandrababu rule, indicates that all is not well between the BJP and the TDP. There are also reports that BJP minister in charge of endowments Pydikondala Manikyala Rao had flatly refused to allow alienation of temple lands for infrastructre building.

There are enough indications that the BJP is trying to emerge as a third force in Andhra Pradesh and this is bad news for the TDP, which rode to power on the crest of a pro-BJP wave.
