Officials chalk out plans to end water-woes ahead of Summer - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: As announced last week by Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) department about its 100-day plan, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) has come out with an action plan to end the water crisis in the city ahead of the ensuing summer.

The 100-day plan envisages commissioning reservoirs and providing new water connections within a time span of 100 days.

"Once commissioned, water supply would improve to 37,000 existing connections in these areas," a water board official said.

Rural Water Supply(RWS) pipeline has been laid with 400 mm diameter pipeline to increase water supply to Manikonda, Puppalguda and Narsingi. Similarly, a 300 mm diameter pipeline had been laid from Sainikpuri reservoir to Jawaharnagar, Chennapur, Damaiguda, Rampally, Kundanpally, RL Nagar, Cheryala, and Thimmapally.

Apart from the above initiatives, the water board would also facilitate new filling stations at Serilingampally and Kukatpally to provide water tanker supply.

About 3,000 families in Bandlaguda in Chandrayangutta division would be provided with new water connections and pending water supply applications would also be cleared during the 100-day plan.
