No takers for TDP's maha dharna in Vijayawada
The Telugu Desam Party began a protest to highlight various issues, including those of the farmers, who were left to their own fate. The leaders from the TDP are protesting against the 13 lakh acres of land under the Krishna Delta that is being wasted.
Beginning today, the TDP, CPI and their farmers associations have planned the 'maha dharna' to highlight the plight of farmers in Krishna delta region near Prakasam Barrage.
Although the TDP has named its protest maha dharna, the crowd at the dharna doesn't have many takers. It seems farmers have no faith in the TDP's maha dharna. The TDP were also seen urging the people to participate in maha dharna, which happens to be a massive sit-in protest.
It is worth mentioning here that earlier in 2010, the response was same for Nadu's dharna on Prakhasam Barrage and Krishna water.
Looks like TDP which was once a majority party in the state is slowly losing steam.
