Telangana Liquor Worth Rs 2 Lakh Seized In AP

VIJAYAWADA: The Krishna district police on Tuesday seized huge amounts of liquor. The liquor bottles were illegally being transported from Telangana to Andhra Pradesh. Nearly two lakh worth liquor has been seized by the task force police at the Jannalgadda check post, Nandigama zone in the early hours of Tuesday. Police also arrested four people for illegally transporting liquor amidst the nationwide lockdown and also seized their bikes. Vigil stepped up in the borders of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. 

The Andhra Pradesh state government hiked the prices of liquor by another 50 percent, taking the total overall hike in the price of liquor to 75%. The main intention behind increasing the liquor rates is to 'discourage' people from consumption and safeguard health.
