48 new cases in 24 hours, four returned from Tamil Nadu's Coimbatore district to Chittoor district in AP.

AMARAVATI: Andhra Pradesh reported 2,719 cases in the state and the active cases in the state stand at 759 on Tuesday.

A total of 1,903 people have been recovered and discharged from COVID-19 designated hospitals. The death toll in the state stands at 57, according to the state health ministry update at 10 am.
 
A total of 8,148 samples have been tested in the last 24 hours (9 am -9 am Tuesday) and 48 out of them tested positive for COVID-19 in the state.

A total of 3,22,714 samples have been tested in the state so far and 3,19,731 tested negative for the highly infectious coronavirus.

In East Godavari, one death has been reported and 55 have been discharged in the last 24 hours, according to the update.

In the 48 cases, four returned from Tamil Nadu's Coimbatore district to Chittoor district in AP.

Meanwhile, domestic flight operations resumed in Andhra Pradesh as the first Spicejet plane from Bengaluru landed at Vijayawada airport early Tuesday with 79 passengers. After almost two months of Covid-19 induced lockdown, flight services resumed in the state a day after it was resumed in various other states.

According to the Airport Director G Madhusudhana Rao, the aircraft returned to Bengaluru at 7.40 AM carrying 68 passengers.

He said the airport also received an Indigo flight from Bengaluru with 48 passengers and departed with 50 travellers.
