You Can Charge Your EVs at Secunderabad Railway Station

Now South Central Railway (SCR) is coming up with a new plan to set up EV (Electric Vehicle) charging stations across various areas in the Secunderabad division. The reports say that SCRis planning to set up EV charging stations in free space at MMTS stations. The official also said that the EV charging station at Kacheguda which is not been functioning for a few months will be replaced by hiring new contractors. The SCR official also said that they want to install EV stations at Bowenpally due to the rapid speed of development taking place there. This year, it is expected that EV stations would be installed at the MMTS railway stations at Lingampalli, Hitec City, Necklace Road (PVNR Marg), Sanjeeviah Park, Lakadi-ka-pul, and Ghatkesar.

The SCR is also preparing to utilise its empty lands in the nearby districts and city suburbs to the fullest extent possible. In order to do this, vacant railroad properties at the railway stations at Moula Ali, Medchal, Tellapur, Umdanagar, and Falaknuma will be used to put up EV charging stations.

Also, as part of its "Green Energy" effort, SCR is building solar panels on the grounds of the train station. These panels will produce power, which will then be used by the EV stations to charge cars. Solar power is used to power the EV charging station at Kacheguda railway station. Authorities are looking into the idea of installing similar solar panels on the roofs or tracks of other railway stations around the zone to generate electricity, which might serve to power EV charging stations on the premises and increase revenue.
