Why No Non-Veg During Sravana Masam? Here's the Scientific Reason!

 - Sakshi Post

Sravana Masam is a holy month that welcomes festivals and auspicious times. According to the Hindu calendar, it is the fifth month with festivals, marriages, and other traditional events. Most Hindus have stopped eating non-vegetarian food this month. Many people believe that this is because of spiritual belief, but there are many scientific reasons behind this act.

During this month, with rain and god's blessings, most places witness heavy rainfall. There is a high chance that hens, fish, and other animals will get affected by diseases. Avoiding them this month can prevent deadly diseases.

Another scientific reason is that humans' metabolism decreases when there is low sunlight. It is believed that the metabolism reaches its lowest levels when eating light food and avoiding non-vegetarian food, so eating light food and avoiding non-vegetarian food helps with easy digestion.
