Weather Report: More Rains in Telugu States
The Indian Meteorological Department said that the rains will continue for three more days in the Telugu states. The Met Department officials issued an alert as two surface periods were formed in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. While one is extending from Rayalaseema to the Komorin region up to 0.9 km above sea level, another period extended from the surrounding areas of Telangana to an average elevation of 4.5 km above sea level.
Andhra Pradesh is likely to receive light to heavy rains due to low pressure. The IMD Hyderabad telecast light to moderate rains in the northern coastal belt on Friday. There is a chance of scattered showers with thunder and lightning on Saturday and Sunday as well.
Officials expect heavy to very heavy rains in Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts during the next 48 hours. The weather conditions will be similar in Telangana and Rayalaseema regions during the weekend.
Light to moderate rains are expected in many districts of north Telangana. Coming to other parts of Telangana, due to the surface period, Met officials forecast moderate to heavy rains on Saturday and Sunday.
