Telangana COVID-19 Update June 1: 94 New Cases, Tally At 2,792
HYDERABAD: On the first day of lockdown 5.0, Telangana registered 94 new cases pushing the tally to 2,792 even as six fatalities due to the virus were reported in the state, taking the toll to 88.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) reported the highest number of cases at 79. In Ranga Reddy, Medchal districts, three cases were reported respectively, while in Nalgonda, Medak and Sangareddy, two cases were reported respectively.
According to the public health and family welfare media bulletin, total local cases till May 31 stands at 2,264, while 434 cases are of migrants, deportees and foreign returnees.
The bulletin said 1,491 people have been discharged so far after treatment. The number of people receiving treatment in the hospitals stood at 1,213.
In a good news, the districts with zero cases COVID-19 in the past 14 days are Siricilla, Kamareddy, Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Padepally, Siddipet, Bhadradri, Asifabad, Adilabad, Gadwal, Nalgonda and Mahabubabad.
On Sunday, Telangana had registered its largest single day spike of coronavirus cases with 199 fresh infections taking the tally to 2,698.
Earlier in the day, Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundarararjan had expressed concern over the sharp rise in positive coronavirus cases despite the ongoing efforts and warned people to be cautious and careful.
