Tollywood Heroines' Phone Tapping Allegations: KTR Responds
Hyderabad: The phone tapping case has become a political hot potato in Telangana. After the arrest of a few police officials in the case, accusations are flying thick and fast that former minister and BRS leader KT Rama Rao was involved in it and he threatened film actresses.
Addressing a press conference on the serious matter, KTR denied all phone tapping allegations levelled against him and said the current dispensation has launched a ‘smear campaign’ against him. He said he never ordered the officials to tap the phones of Tollywood heroines nor was he in contact with any heroine.
Earlier, Congress minister Konda Surekha had alleged that KTR was involved in the phone tapping case. KTR responded to her allegation and said he will take legal recourse against the allegation. The BRS working president served legal notices to minister Surekha, Congress legislator Yennam Srinivas Reddy and Congress leader KK Mahender Reddy. The notice sought public apology from the Congress leaders over the remark.
KTR challenged Revanth Reddy to launch a probe into the phone tapping case starting 2004. He said a few Congress MPs including the current minister Ponnam Prabhakar and Komatireddy Venkat Reddy had accused the Congress government of tapping their phones in 2011.
