KCR Condoles Telangana Media Academy Chairman's Wife Allam Padma's Demise - Sakshi Post

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister  K. Chandrashekar Rao has mourned the death of  Allam Padma (54), wife of Telangana State Press Academy Chairman  Allam Narayana. The CM recalled the services rendered by Allam Padma during the separate statehood movement. The CM spoke to  Allam Narayana over the phone and conveyed his condolences to members of the bereaved family. Minister for IT and Industries KT Rama Rao (KTR)  also condoled the demise of Allam Padma  who passed away on Tuesday.

KTR recalled her role in the Telangana movement and  stated that Allam Padma was an active participant. Expressing his condolences to the family members of Allam  Narayana, Minister KTR prayed for her soul to rest in peace. Senior journalist and former editor of ‘Namasthe Telangana’ Telugu daily Allam Narayana was the first chairman of the Telangana Press Academy which was formed after the bifurcation of the State. 

Allam Padma was suffering from kidney-related ailments and was admitted to NIMS hospital in the city 22 days ago. She also contracted COVID and breathed her last on Tuesday after her condition situation deteriorated.

Her body will be brought to Indraprastha Apartment in Czech Colony at Erragadda on Wednesday morning for public viewing. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon at Maha Prasthanam in Jubilee Hills, family members said.

Allam Padma played an important role in the Telangana movement was also part of the women's JAC. With the closure of the hostel mess at Osmania  University during the Telangana movement, she came forward to feed the students who were struggling with closure of all facilities and was lovingly called 'amma' by them for her selfless service.

Speaker of the Telangana Legislative Assembly Pocharam Srinivasa Reddy, Ministers Harish Rao, Srinivas Gowd, Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Niranjan Reddy, Koppula Ishwar, Malla Reddy, Satyavathi Rathod, Gangula Kamalakar, Sabita Indra Reddy and Prashanth Reddy also expressed their condolences over Padma's death.
