Hyderabad Metro Gives Big Shock to Commuters

Hyderabad: In a major disappointment for metro commuters in Hyderabad, the metro authorities have cancelled the concessions on metro cards and holiday cards. This decision will result in an additional financial burden for passengers.

The metro rail has become the primary mode of transportation for Hyderabad residents as it allows people and employees to reach their destinations quickly without facing traffic congestion. As a result, metro travel has gained popularity, especially during morning and evening rush hours as well as on holidays. With the scorching summer heat, an increasing number of people have been opting for the metro in recent days, the latest decision of Hyderabad Metro Rail has upset them. 

The authorities at Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) have withdrawn the 10 percent discount on metro cards as well as the SSO-59 or Super Saver Holiday smart cards have also been discontinued. The Super Saver smart cards would allow commuters to travel on the metro for Rs. 59 on certain holidays. This offer was introduced on September 23, 2023.
