Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy made it clear that every Gram Panchayat in Telangana  should have a government school. The CM said that  not a single Panchayat  should exist without school in the state while holding a review on education with top officials in the Secretariat on Saturday. The CM stressed the need to establish a government school in every small and remote village ensuring no girl or boy  go to other villages or towns to pursue their education. The Chief Minister ordered the officials to resume the functioning of all the closed schools irrespective of  the number of students enrolled in the institutions and run them regularly. The officials have been asked to conduct a mega DSC for teacher recruitment to  run all the government schools in the villages .

The Chief Minister reviewed the progress in “ Mana Vooru, Mana Badi ( Our Village ,Our School) programme and asked the officials to complete all the leftover/ pending works and promote all  the schools as the best educational institutions.      

CM Revanth also instructed the officials to focus on the problems in promotions and transfers of government teachers. The CM suggested to the officials to hold meetings with the representatives of Teachers Unions and explore alternative ways to address the  problems in the promotions and transfers.   

The Chief minister instructed the authorities about the steps to be taken to change the category regarding electricity bills for  educational institutions . Appropriate alternative ways will  be explored for collecting bills under business and industrial categories for schools. Instructions have been issued to the authorities regarding  arranging sweepers and sanitation workers in the schools.

Skill University in every  old district

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy announced the establishment of Skill Universities in all old districts. A high-level meeting is held at  Dr. BR Ambedkar State  Secretariat on various issues of the Education Department. State Chief  Secretary Santhi Kumari, Higher Education Board Chairman Prof. Limbadri, Principal Secretary to Education B  Venkatesham, School Education Director  Devasena, CMO Officers - Seshadri, Shah-Nawaz Qasim and other officials attended the meeting.

Speaking on this occasion, the CM stressed the need to set up Skill Universities in the state  to create skilled manpower which is required for industrial needs. The skill universities will offer  employment oriented short term and long term courses . The officials have been asked to conduct a study on the functioning of skill universities in  Gujarat, Haryana, Rajasthan, Orissa and Andhra Pradesh. The CM said that skill universities will be established in nine districts including Kodangal Assembly constituency. The CM ordered the Chief Secretary to constitute a Special Committee with the secretaries of the Education Department, Industries and Labour Department and submit suitable proposals.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister distributed laptops among the students of Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge and Technology in Basra.
