Telangana 2023: BRS vs Congress vs BJP – Who Has the Edge?
Telangana Assembly elections 2023 are fast approaching. Political parties are all set to woo the voters with their electoral promises and vying up to attain power in the state. While the ruling BRS party and the opposition Congress party are the front-runners, the BJP is also trying its best to prove its mettle.
The trends show that there is a tight fight between BRS and Congress. As per some surveys, Congress is quite strong in Nalgonda and Khammam districts. It is reported that there is a rise in Congress vote share in the Hyderabad district due to the shift of Kamma and Muslim voters from the BRS to it. Meanwhile, the BRS is strong in Karimnagar and Medak. If Congress gains in these pockets, it could change the dynamics.
On the other hand, another key element is the triangular fight. If BJP's vote share gains, it will affect the Congress directly. The anti-incumbency votes are said to be divided between the Congress and the BJP. BJP has considerable strength in Adilabad, Nizamabad and Rangareddy districts. If the BJP gains vote share outside these districts, it could be easy for the BRS to form the government. Whereas if the Congress makes a comeback in Adilabad, Nizamabad and Rangareddy, it will be a cakewalk for the Congress party to storm to power.
A political consultancy called Chanakyya has drawn these assumptions based on its surveys in October and November months respectively.
