WhatsApp To Introduce Cashback Feature For UPI Payments in India

 - Sakshi Post

The instant messaging mobile application WhatsApp had earlier introduced a new payment chat to quickly send payments from the chat bar.

However, the company is now working on another feature for payments, especially for Indian users.

This feature is named “Cashback” where users can receive cashback for the WhatsApp Payments done after 48 hours.

The FaceBook-owned company is planning to introduce this feature to encourage its users to try WhatsApp Payments.

The reports claim that it is not clear whether the cashback is offered to the users while making payments to everyone or only for first-time users paying through WhatsApp payments.

However, sources say that WhatsApp will give a clarification when this feature is made available.

It is anticipated that the company will limit this offer to Unified Payment Interface (UPI) Payments in India and one might receive up to Rs 10  as cashback for their payments. However, this value may also change when the official announcement is made.

Designed in partnership with the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), on the UPI, the payments feature on WhatsApp is an India-first, real-time payment system that enables transactions with over 227 banks.
