Hamilton Eyes Elusive 100th Formula One Win

 - Sakshi Post

Lewis Hamilton is looking for whatever advantage he can get this weekend as he attempts to retake the world championship lead at the Russian Grand Prix and to bag the 100th Formula One victory.

Since winning the British Grand Prix in July, the seven-time champion has a record of 99 wins and is fighting to achieve his century.

However, after surviving another accident with Red Bull championship contender Max Verstappen at Monza, which followed their high-speed first lap tangle at Silverstone, Hamilton has an exciting opportunity to create history for Mercedes at the Sochi Autodrom on the Black Sea's beaches on Sunday.

Verstappen, on the other hand, enters the race with a three-place grid penalty for his role in their accident in Italy, in which his vehicle ended up on top of Hamilton, who escaped injury because of the halo cockpit safety equipment.

Hamilton is anticipated to have completely healed from the headaches and neck problems he had in Italy, and he is in a determined mindset, according to Mercedes team chief Toto Wolff.

"Lewis is in the tenth championship battle of his F1 career, and he is laser-focused on what he has to produce in the next eight races," he added.
