Hyderabad Techie's Short Film Manase Namaha in Oscar Race!
Manase Namaha, a short film with a duration of 16 minutes, helmed by a Hyderabad-based youth, Deepak Reddy has now entered the list of films that have got entry into the 2022 Oscar Awards in California. The short film has won the hearts of the folks and bagged many awards.
Deepak Reddy, an Engineering student from Hyderabad while doing his master's at Houston University pursued his passion for filmmaking. Manase Namaha won nearly 100 awards and broke the record and it has been appreciated by director Goutham Vasudev Menon, Rashmika Mandanna, Anushka Shetty, and many others. The short film is all about Surya and Chaitra and it is a satiric explanation of a youth who faces the tantrums of his girlfriend.
Here is the list of awards won by the short film - WorldFest Houston in Texas, Catalina Film Festival in California, Garden State Film festival in New Jersey, Carmarthen Bay Film Festival, BAFTA qualified in Wales, Crystal Palace Film Festival in London, Harlem International Film Festival in New York, Oxford Film Festival in London and Long Island Film Expo in New York.
Deepak Reddy speaking to DC said that he was very much fascinated by cinema and grew up watching movies. He further added that he went to Houston University to pursue post-graduation after completing his engineering graduation. He stated that "I got an opportunity to work as an apprentice for a Telugu film, a movie unit which had a portion to shoot in the US. Since the crew strength was less, I worked for them, during which I realized my inner calling. I am meant for movie making and I tossed my certificates in a can and started working on this project. Now I am doing pre-production of a feature length movie, and a bigger production house is producing this."
