Notice issued to 113 Hyderabad Hospitals. License to treat Coivd patients revoked from KIMS Hospitals, Sunshine Hospitals, Century Hospitals, Lotus Hospitals, Medisys Hospital and Integro Hospital.

HYDERABAD: A show-cause notice was issued to 113 hospitals in the city based on at least 174 complaints. The license to treat Covid patients was revoked from KIMS Hospitals (Secunderabad), Sunshine Hospitals, Century Hospitals (Banjara Hills), Lotus Hospitals (Lakdikapul), Medisys Hospital and Integro Hospital.

A statement was issued by the Office of Director of Public Health and Family Welfare under which they confirmed this news. After receiving many complaints from the patients and their families, the officials decided to look into the matter.

Many who went to get treated at these private hospitals complained of excess charges and huge bills. “Excess and irrelevant charges in addition to the prescribed norms” were made. Families were asked to pay more than the regulated Covid treatment norm. Even after all this, they didn’t get treatment at the proper time. The hospitals were mismanaged and there was no one to pay full attention to a patient in need.

These private hospitals did whatever they wanted to and took advantage of the situation to extract more money from these people. The families who went to these hospitals for treatment were left in shock upon seeing the bill in the end. It is not just the hospitals mentioned above, but other private hospitals did the same as well and as a result, their license was revoked too.

At least 16 hospitals received this notice on 31 May and 6 on 1st June. A total of 113 hospitals are now barred from treating any Covid patients. They are to finish the treatment for currently admitted coronavirus patients at their hospital and not accept any new cases after that.

“It is hereby warned that any hospital found guilty of violating established protocols/norms, will be subjected to suitable disciplinary action,” added the statement.
