Chinese Soldiers Enter Uttarakhand on Horses Amid Ladakh Standoff

On August 30, as many as 100 Chinese People's Liberation Army forces crossed into Indian territory in Uttarakhand's Barahoti, sources confirmed. On horseback, the army arrived and stayed for at least three hours.

As per the update, there was no fight/faceoff between the Chinese troops and the Indian Army, but the Chinese side destroyed the footbridge. The Army and ITBP troops arrived but till then the PLA soldiers were gone. The sources confirmed this, but on the other hand, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the government has no news of this.

The recent update has suggested that based on the surveillance and intelligence reports, the People’s Liberation Army has now constructed new modular container-based accommodations. This goes along with the Line of Actual Control (LAC) opposite eastern Ladakh.

As of now both sides, India and China have kept at least 50,000 soldiers at the ready in the immediate depth regions along the LAC in eastern Ladakh. They also have howitzers, tanks, and surface-to-air missile systems. They are using aircraft and drones to keep an eye on each other’s movements.

Following a deadly confrontation in the Pangong lake area in May, last year, the border standoff between the Indian army and Chinese troops erupted, and both sides kept bringing in more soldiers and also heavy Armory. After a lot of discussions and various talks held between them, both sides withdrew the troops and weaponry.
