Mallareddy Raid Case: IT Questioning Continues on Day 2
The Income Tax department officials continued their investigation for the second day on Tuesday in connection with the IT searches at Telangana Minister Mallareddy's house.
Along with Mallareddy's auditor, the principals and accountants of all the colleges were interrogated by the officials for about four hours.
The IT sleuths wanted to know In what form was the fees and donations taken while admitting students into medical and engineering colleges and How much was collected.
The officials rained questions on them to find out how much fee amount was charged for seats in various categories. It is reported that the auditor was questioned on the basis of the key documents found during the searches and the evidence related to the investments. He was also asked how many accounts these colleges have in total and which college had accounts in which banks.
It is learnt that the IT officials demanded to know where the 100 crores donation collected from students during admissions was deposited. They inquired about this after it was brought to their notice that the college was collecting high fees from the students but giving receipts for lower amounts
