 - Sakshi Post

Telangana SC Co-operative Development Corporation Limited Chairman, Banda Srinivas said that all the 75 lakh Dalits belonging to 59 sub-castes of Scheduled castes in Telangana will receive the Dalit Bandhu Scheme in the next 15 months.

The Telangana Dalit Bandhu scheme was launched by CM K Chandrashekar Rao on a pilot basis in Huzurabad Assembly constituency where the Dalit families are now being given Rs 10 Lakh.

Banda Srinivas told that the scheme would initially be implemented for poor families across Telangana and in later phases government employees would be covered. He later clarified on the allegations that Rs 10 lakh credited in the beneficiaries’ bank account were not taken back.

The SC Corporation chairman said that some political leaders are intentionally making false allegations on the scheme as it was aimed for the upliftment of poor dalits in Telangana. Talking about the three-acre land distribution to the landless poor dalits, Srinivas told that around 16,800 acres of land was distributed and for some dalits, the government allotted Rs 7 lakh per acre to acquire the land.

He further noted that the state government is distributing self-employment units to SCs through SC Corporation and the efforts are yielding good results in terms of dalits development.
