MAA Elections 2021: Can Murali Mohan Pull Off A Consensus for Unanimous Elections
HYDERABAD: Around 15 members of the present executive committee of the Movie Artists Association (MAA) operations have written a letter to veteran actor and president of the disciplinary committee, U Krishnam Raju asking him to conduct the elections immediately as the tenure of the working committee of the MAA has expired. Senior actor Naresh is heading the team and the war of words between him and Prakash Raj has already heated up in the MAA circles.
It is reported that Krishnam Raju and another senior member Murali Mohan will hold an Executive Council Meeting on Thursday to decide the way forward. After the announcement of the meeting, tomorrow has led to widespread rumours about the fate of MAA as some members wanted unanimous elections where one person should be elected. Others are of the argument that elections should be held at the earliest.

It is known that six members are in the fray for the MAA presidency, including Chiranjeevi –backed Prakash raj, Vishnu Manchu, current executive members Jeevitha Rajasekhar, Hema, and GVL Narasimha Rao who is pitching for the bifurcation of MAA, while representing the rights of the Telangana workers. Local and non-local arguments are also heard in this election after Prakash Raj stated that he was contesting. The other long-pending issue about the MAA building construction might come up again.
In this context, the meeting of the MAA Executive Committee will be held on Thursday in a virtual manner. However, senior actor Murali Mohan is working for a consensus. It remains to be seen to what extent his efforts to set up a unanimous committee for the welfare of the association in mind will pay off.
