Delhi Cantonment murder solved within 24 hours, 2 held

New Delhi, June 25 (IANS) A murder case in the Delhi Cantonment area has been solved within 24 hours with the arrest of two accused, police said on Sunday.

DCP, South West, Manoj C., said that the accused were identified as Vikas, alias Fatti, alias Nakul, and Vanshu. 

He said that around 7.15 p.m on Saturday, a PCR call was received that a youth had been stabbed by two other youths in the area. The injured was taken to AIIMS Trauma Centre, where he was declared dead by the doctors. 

The deceased was identified as Ashish, alias Dhanu (22). His family alleged that at about 6 p.m., Vikas and Vanshu came outside their house and called out Ashish. 

As both youths had a criminal background, Ashish's faher, sensing danger, started following them.

"At around 6:30 p.m., Vikas and Vanshu, along with Ashish, reached near the Barat Ghar, APS Road, and started quarrelling with him. Later on, Vikas held Ashish while Vanshu started stabbing him. Ashish's father tried to save his son with the help of other persons there. But the accused managed to flee from the spot," the police said. 

The police said that with the help of intelligence, the accused were tracked down and arrested. During interrogation, both the accused said that they had enmity with Ashish and had planned to eliminate him.
