BHU student among three held for murder in UP

Varanasi, June 26 (IANS) The Varanasi police in Uttar Pradesh have arrested three persons in connection with the murder of Devansh Yadav, whose body was found in Chandauli a month ago.

The three accused include a female BHU student, her boyfriend, and his friend.

Police said that the accused have been identified as Anushka Tiwari, a student of BHU, her lover Rahul Seth, and car driver Shadab Alam.

According to police, during interrogation, the accused confessed to having killed Devansh, who was missing since May 26.

Devansh’s father Ram Kishore Yadav lodged his missing complaint at Bhelupur police station on May 29 but he could not be traced till June 7.

On June 8, Ram Kishore lodged a case against Anushka and her father alleging that they kidnapped his son. Subsequently, the police registered a case under the relevant section and started an investigation.

Devansh was the only son of Ram Kishore, who works as a teacher at a village in Farrukhabad district.

The three are being interrogated to ascertain the motive behind the crime.
