Memantha Siddham bus yatra: Meet YSRCP’s star campaigner of the day!
When the entire nation was grappling with the global COVID-19 pandemic and a nationwide lockdown was imposed, the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy-led government in Andhra Pradesh upheld its commitment to the people by delivering welfare schemes on time.
Despite financial constraints and the looming COVID-19 crisis, the wheels of welfare kept rolling in the state. Andhra Pradesh became the first state in the country to bring COVID-19 treatment under the YSR Aarogyasri scheme, which covers nearly 1.5 crore households.
Meet Munaga Abhiram, an 18-year-old, who was a teenager when COVID-19 hit the Telugu state. At the peak of the pandemic, Abhiram tragically lost both his parents, leaving him orphaned with no one to care for him. When Chief Minister YS Jagan learned about this orphaned teenager, he allocated Rs 10 lakh from the CM's special funds.
As the Chief Minister's 'Memantha Siddham' bus yatra was passing through Prakasam district, Abhiram joined the yatra to express his heartfelt gratitude to YS Jagan for his kind gesture during distressing times. Abhiram also wished the Chief Minister success in winning 175 out of 175 seats in the Andhra Pradesh State Assembly elections scheduled for May 13.
