AP Electricity Minister Balineni Srinivasa Reddy Tests Positive For Coronavirus
HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh Electricity Minister Balineni Srinivasa Reddy is the latest to join the virus-hit league of leaders and celebrities. He tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday, August 5.
According to reports, the minister was suffering from fever for the past few days and underwent COVID-19 tests. He tested negative for coronavirus but as a precautionary measure on the advice of doctors, the minister has put himself under home quarantine at his Hyderabad residence.
With fever not subsiding, he gave his samples for the second time on Tuesday. Shockingly, the second test, the result of which came out on Wednesday, showed him as positive for COVID-19. He was immediately admitted to Apollo Hospitals where he is receiving treatment.
According to his PRO, the minister's health, at present, is stable. Balineni shared a message to party leaders, activists and fans stating, "I am healthy, being treated at Apollo Hospital and I'll be home soon."
Meanwhile, the total COVID-19 Cases in Andhra Pradesh so far rose to 1,76,333 after 9,747 persons were diagnosed as positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday, August 4. The death toll due to the virus went up to 1,604 with 67 more fatalities reported on Tuesday. A total of 95,625 people completely recovered and were discharged from various hospitals till Tuesday. Currently, there are 79,104 active cases of coronavirus in the state.
