Andhra Pradesh: Heavy Rains Likely In Coming Four Days
AMARAVATI: With the Southwest monsoon active over coastal Andhra Pradesh, heavy rains lashed Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Krishna districts and is likely to continue for another four days in the coastal districts and a few places in Rayalaseema.
The Amaravati Meteorological Center has warned that there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rains accompanied by thunder and lightning in the state. It said on Thursday that a depression formed over the Bay of Bengal is moving in the northwest direction from the coast of South Odisha and Northern Andhra. As a result, heavy and extremely heavy rains with scattered lightning and thunder will occur on 8, 9, 10 and 11 in Yanam and South Coast along with North Andhra.

Rayalaseema is likely to receive thunder and lightning showers on Friday and Saturday. Meanwhile, moderate to heavy rains were witnessed in many places across the state on Thursday.
The highest rainfall of 74.8 mm was recorded in Veeraghattam mandal of Parvathipuram Manyam district.
52.8 mm in Seethampet, 45.6 in Pendurthi, 42.2 in Anandapuram, 30.6 in Velerupadu, 31.2 in Mantralayam, 20.4 in Koonavaram, 24.4 in Nandikotkur, 25 in Kukunoor, 28.2 in Wangara, 21.4 in Kotandur, 21.6 in Kosigi, 20.4 mm in Sinatagaram. Kurnool district received light to moderate rains from Wednesday to Thursday morning.
